IEP Development and Implementation: Supplementary Aids and Services is a new guidance document from Michigan Department of Education - Office of Special Education to assist individualized education program (IEP) Teams in developing and implementing IEPs. The document clarifies the shared understanding of what supplementary aids and services are and how they are used to support placement of a student with a disability in the least restrictive environment (LRE).Supplementary aids and services are a significant component of FAPE that affords astudent with a disability the ability to access and make progress in the generaleducation curriculum alongside nondisabled peers to the maximum extent appropriate to the student.
